Refugees in a United Nations Camp asked me why we come from the other side of the world to help them on our own dime. They just cannot grasp Kindness in their culture. It's fascinating to see how Kindness gives them light and hope in a very dark place. There is a place in the region I have been to that gives the widows from the unrest some hope. It is a place where these widows come to who have seen the worst that darkness can give, things that are unspeakable. This place gives them life-saving light, giving them tasks to learn like cutting hair, making soap and candles to sell in the town. Then later they can teach others if they choose helping to all keep their minds off of contemplating suicide as the unspeakable things done to them and their families take a heavy toll on them both mentally and physically. In these two pictures I took, my wife in her blue scrubs stands proudly in the back admiring the women in the facility as they continue to shine and smile thru the Kindness and love her colleagues show them. In the other picture, my wife asked them to bring out what they were taking to sell next in the town. My wife and her team bought everything they put on the table. The welcoming atmosphere and hugs of appreciation these widows gave us touched all of our hearts. Kindness and love on full display.
