Every year, for eight days beginning the Saturday before World Kindness Day and ending the following Saturday, communities around the world come together for Kindness Week Worldwide, a celebration designed to inspire, recognize, and amplify acts of Kindness on a global stage.
From schools and nonprofits to businesses, families, and community groups, Kindness Week Worldwide gives everyone an opportunity to make Kindness visible. The possibilities are intentionally broad, allowing each community to shape the celebration around its own people, needs, and ideas.
For Ripples of Kindness (ROK), Kindness Week Worldwide lasts eight days because those eight days represent the Eight Characteristics of Kindness:
Gratitude
Patience
Forgiveness
Empathy/Compassion
Respect
Joy
Generosity
Service

Each characteristic offers a different way to think about what it means to be Kind, creating eight opportunities to focus on intentional acts of Kindness throughout the week.
The eight-day framework can help communities:
Explore a different characteristic each day
Encourage people to participate in meaningful ways
Create activities for schools, organizations, and workplaces
Connect individual acts of Kindness to a larger movement
Rather than being a one-size-fits-all celebration, the eight days provide a foundation that communities can make their own.
Kindness Week Worldwide is designed to be flexible. Communities can choose activities that reflect their unique interests, resources, and goals while still participating in a shared worldwide movement.
Some ways to participate include:
Creating a customizable Kindness Week Worldwide proclamation
Recognizing individuals through Kindness Citations
Sharing Kindness Cards with friends, neighbors, coworkers, or strangers
Organizing blood donation efforts
Creating school or workplace Kindness activities
Planning community service projects
Sharing stories and photos that showcase Kindness in action
There is no single way to celebrate. What matters is creating opportunities for Kindness to take root and spread.

ROK gives individuals and communities a powerful way to showcase and amplify the Kindness happening throughout the week. By documenting acts of Kindness and sharing them with others, each ROK can help demonstrate how one positive action can create a Ripple that reaches far beyond its starting point.
Whether someone helps a neighbor, donates blood, recognizes a Kind person, or organizes a community event, that moment can become part of a larger story.
ROK can help communities:
Celebrate people who are making a difference
Share Kindness stories with a wider audience
Inspire others to participate
Create a visible record of Kindness happening around them
The beauty of Kindness Week Worldwide is that communities do not have to celebrate in exactly the same way to be connected. A school in one community might focus on Kindness Cards, while a business recognizes employees with Kindness Citations and another community organizes a blood drive.
Different activities can create the same result: more Kindness being seen, celebrated, and shared.
